Session 1:  The Big 3: and how they were formed

DESCRIPTION:  During this  20 minute online adventure, your naturalists will lead the session from one of our many Miami County Parks!  We will introduce igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks, along with some of the common places to find each type on Earth.  Using demonstrations, explorations will be made to see how each type of rock has its own process to follow in forming.  This session also has a tailored review quiz for your students and the Heat & Pressure SCIENCE JOURNEY material will support some of the same standards.

Session 2: Minerals and identification

Nature LIVE! Session 2 Sign Up - Offered January and February

DESCRIPTION: During this  20 minute online adventure, your naturalists will lead the session from one of our many Miami County Parks!  Using streak tests and other observations, students will come to understand that rocks, and the minerals that make them, have stories to tell.  Just by using your scientific skills you can make some inferences about any rock you might hold in your hand.  This session also has a tailored review quiz for your students and the Heat & Pressure SCIENCE JOURNEY material will support some of the same standards.  Click the session title above to book your session with a naturalist!
