Session 1: Characteristics of Rocks

Nature LIVE! Session 1 Sign Up - Offered in September and October

DESCRIPTION:  During this  20 minute online adventure, your naturalists will lead the session from one of our many Miami County Parks! Together with your class they will understand that rocks are not all the same, you can compare their color, luster, cleavage, texture, layering, and so much more. Rocks also have special properties that can be useful in making things that we use every day, but understand that we get them at a price by using up our rock resources. Have your students prepare for this session by bringing a rock of their own choice to compare during the program, small or large they all have characteristics! This session also has a tailored review quiz for your students and the Heat & Pressure SCIENCE JOURNEY material will support the same standards.
