Possible delayed openings December 14 due to weather

Park District staff will begin snow removal and safety assessments as soon as conditions allow. Some parks may open later than normal tomorrow morning, and parks will reopen on a rolling basis as each location is cleared and ready for public access. Park status updates will be shared throughout the morning via the Miami County Park District website and social media channels.

The Miami County Park District appreciates the community’s understanding and cooperation as safety remains the top priority during inclement weather.

Holiday Lights

Daily December 14-23 from 6 - 9 p.m.

The event is cancelled on December 13 due to weather conditions. Be transported into a winter wonderland filled with over 60 light displays, many of which are animated!  The 1.25-mile driving tour takes you through the woods, down charming farm lanes and past the historic Knoop Homestead aglow with lights.  Make this enchanted experience part of your holiday traditions. $10 per vehicle/$30 for 15 passenger vans. (Cash only at the gate.)

Winter Fun

In Your Parks

The sledding hill at Stillwater Prairie Reserve is a great place to spend the afternoon if enough snow falls or if you enjoy cross country skiing, visit the trails at the following parks: Lost Creek Reserve, Stillwater Prairie Reserve-Rangeline Road Access, Hobart Urban Nature Preserve, John A. Wannemacher Nature Reserve, Goode Prairie Reserve and Garbry Big Woods Reserve. Remember to layer for warmth and have fun!

Birding heats up in winter! 

Stop out to one of your parks and look for a wide range of migrating birds who temporarily make Ohio their home. A great place to spot our feathered friends is in Your parks where grasslands meet woodlands. It is the perfect place to see snowbirds such as eagles, hawks and owls.

Backyard bird feeders also attract a variety of birds from Canada like northern finches, pine siskins, red and white-winged crossbills and common redpolls. Follow this link to more information on birding in the winter.
