Public Programs
Please register at register@miamicountyparks.com or by calling (937)667-1286 extension 115 at least one week prior to the program. If the program is closer than one week, please call our office at (937)-667-1286 to check availability. You will receive confirmation by e-mail or phone. If you do not receive a confirmation within 48 hours (excluding weekends), please contact us again. You are not registered until you receive a confirmation. Programs are subject to change due to weather conditions or minimum participant requirements. Please list a contact number when registering.

Ramble Quest: A journey with a mission...Hike the trails and earn a Miami County Park District hiking stick medallion for program details click here

My Tree and Me Book Club - Pick-up a seasonal activity card at your local library. Complete 10 of the activities and read 10 of the books, then bring it to a Park District family program of your choice to collect your prize. A new activity card for each season! Complete all 4 seasons and receive a grand prize at the end of 2010! Click here for more details.

Family Evening Programs - Spend an evening at an old-fashioned campfire listening to legends and telling stories. Sing along with Spirit of Thunder (John De Boer) as participants roast marshmallows and spend time with family and friends.  Participants who play an instrument are welcome to bring it along.  Meet in the parking lot.  Don’t forget your flashlight.

September 26, “Fun with Flutes”

Adult Nature Walking Club - 9 a.m.The Miami County Park District will have an Adult Nature Walking Club hike on July 6th and 20th at 9 a.m.  The walk will be at Lost Creek Reserve, 2645 E. State Route 41 east of Troy.  Join our naturalists or volunteer leader as they head out to explore nature.  Walks are not strenuous or fast-paced.

September 13, “Discovery Exploration” Stillwater Prairie Reserve Nature Time for Toddlers - 10-11 a.m.Children 2-5 years old and an adult companion are invited to attend and learn about this month’s topic “Soil Critters.”  Meet in the parking lot.  Pre-register for the program by sending an e-mail to register@miamicountyparks.com or call (937) 335-9730, Ext. 115.

September 18, “Cast Iron Cooking” Stillwater Prairie Reserve 6-7:30 p.m.

September 19, “Sun Glasses Day” Charleston Falls Preserve Dog Socials – 1 – 3 p.m. If your dog is nice and plays well with others, bring them to the park.  Participants can walk, talk and show off their dog while leisurely strolling down the trail with park naturalist Spirit of Thunder (John De Boer).  Don’t miss this fun event!  Please remember owners are responsible for their dogs. Please clean-up after your pet.
